Jacob A. Vanzin began his career at King, Turnbow & Brisby (now King, Turnbow, Smith & Vanzin, PLLP) as a legal intern during the summer of 2004. After graduating summa cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh and cum laude from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law, Jacob returned to the firm as an associate attorney in 2012.
In January 2014, Jacob became a partner at the newly-renamed King, Turnbow, Smith & Vanzin, PLLP. Jacob practices in many areas of law, but primarily focuses on criminal law, child custody, and civil litigation. Prior to practicing law in Tennessee, Jacob clerked for the Honorable Patricia L. Cohen of the Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District. In law school, Jacob was a Regional Champion and National Quarterfinalist in the National Appellate Advocacy Competition. He speaks Spanish and uses it frequently in his representation of Spanish-speaking clients.
